Office Set Up

When you come to set up your office it can be a daunting, expensive and time absorbing task. You need to plan to ensure you do it correctly as your office will be the hub of your business. It is completely normal when starting out to have a limited budget but there will be essentials that you just can’t afford to skimp on. Make one list detailing essentials and then another list detailing ‘nice-to-haves’.
The first consideration is office furniture and also setting up communications networks for the telephone and email. Communication lines are essential to giving your clients access to your business.
Office furniture is an expensive investment so one way of reducing costs is to go to auctions or look into second hand furniture. eBay is also a good source of furniture covering all essentials from desks to chairs to filing cabinets. Aim for reasonably high quality so that you don’t need to keep replacing.
Plan the layout so that space is utilized fully. Make sure you measure up first! And also consider visitor requirements.
Consider office hardware that will be required such as photocopiers, computers, faxes and printers. Ring around to compare prices.
If you’ve not quite made the commitment to an office consider looking into a serviced office provision instead. The above concerns are all catered for before you move in and it’s just a case of plugging in your computer or lap top. Offices are tastefully outfitted with ergonomic work stations and all fully networked.
