If you have called a meeting you’re responsible for ensuring the meeting is a success. Depending on the reason for the meeting the outcome can be of paramount importance to the business so you’ll want to get the most out of the meeting. Here are some tips for making sure you achieve your meeting goals:
- Make sure the location is accessible to attendees and that you have arranged for directions and details of accommodation to be sent out. If you want the location to be in a prime business location then use meeting rooms supplied by a serviced office provider.
- If its difficult getting everyone together then consider teleconference options. This can avoid constant rescheduling.
- Think about the meeting room set up. Are you holding a large meeting and would a board room set up be more appropriate?
- Check that you have all the audio-visual equipment set up that you require for presentations and other documentation. A serviced office meeting room will come fully equipped but make sure you book the room in plenty of time to ensure its availability.
- Supply attendees with details of the time, place and meeting objectives. Provide an agenda.
Get to the meeting room early so you can set it up - For each agenda point allocate a specific amount of time and keep to it. This will avoid you having to rush through other areas later on.
