The virtual office has grown so much in popularity over the last decade since it was first invented and yet so few people really understand the broad spectrum of services it can offer.

The two services that a virtual office is most well known for are call forwarding and mail forwarding. Of course, there is much more that can be offered but these two are key points for any business.

Call forwarding, or ‘call handling’ can be done however you like – the staff can take messages, forward calls to you directly or to voicemail or even handle some calls for you if they are simple queries.

Mail forwarding on the other hand is not quite so instant and when shopping around for virtual offices one of the key questions you should ask is how frequently they will forward your mail for you. The last thing you need is to find that your important documents, or even worse, cheques are late in arrival.

Reputable virtual office providers should really give you the choice. If it is important for you to receive your post as quickly as possible then you should have the option of daily forwarding. On the other hand, if it is not as crucial for your company, why should you pay for daily forwarding when you don’t need it? Similarly, if you live round the corner, you should be able to save even more by collecting it when you want to.
