Employment Law - What do you need to know?

Employing people is one area of running a company that is subject to numerous laws and regulations at both a national and European level. This article gives SME’s a guide to the sort of areas of employment law they need to look out for and how they can find more information. Employment law is subject to regular changes so it is important to keep track of them.

Changes to employment law can originate in Europe, at Westminster or at devolved government level. However, employment law changes are now not as onerous or burdensome as they have sometimes been as a result of changes to the way it is implemented. New or altered employment law is now only introduced twice a year – in April and September – so it is now easier for organisations to plan for changes.
