All of us want to belong, to be a valued part of a community. Although academics debate the precise definition of the term, the word “community” is usually used to refer to a group of people organised around common values or a shared location, so each of us might be part of a neighbourhood community, a workplace community, or a religious community.
Belonging to a community is also important in the business world, particularly for small businesses, and especially when economic conditions are making it harder and harder to stay in business.
